After Over 50 Days in Captivity, Abducted Oyo Pupils and Teachers Regain Freedom

The pupils and teachers abducted from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom after spending more than 50 days in captivity.

The victims were kidnapped by terrorists on May 15, sparking nationwide concern and calls for urgent action to secure their release.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga announced the development on X, confirming that all the abducted pupils and teachers had been rescued by security agencies.

“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” Onanuga wrote while sharing photographs of the freed victims.
