“Tinubu Must Complete Two Terms” — Presidency Knocks Atiku Over Zoning

The Presidency has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his position on power rotation, insisting that President Bola Tinubu should complete two terms.

In a statement, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga described Atiku’s stance as “self-serving,” accusing him of disregarding the zoning principle during the 2023 election.

He argued that the North’s shorter time in power was due to the death of former President Umaru Yar’Adua and does not invalidate the North-South rotation.

“Since Buhari completed his eight years, Tinubu too must complete his own,” Onanuga said.

He also urged Atiku to drop any plans for 2027, maintaining that it remains the South’s turn to produce the president.
