“Insecurity Will End After 2027 Elections” — Akpabio Blames Rising Violence on Politics
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has linked Nigeria’s rising insecurity to the build-up to the 2027 elections, alleging that it is being sponsored by political actors.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Nigerian Revenue Service headquarters in Abuja, Akpabio said the violence is driven by opponents of President Bola Tinubu.
“Insecurity is increasing because elections are coming… immediately after the election, it will stop,” he said.
He also mocked the opposition, referencing Peter Obi’s move to another platform, and described the opposition as being in disarray.
Akpabio urged Nigerians to remain patient with the current administration, while commending tax boss Zacch Adedeji for his performance.
