“This Is Vindication for Jonathan’s administration ” — Reuben Abati Reacts to 2027 Calls
Media personality and former presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati has described growing calls for former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest in 2027 as a form of vindication.
Speaking on Arise TV, Abati said Jonathan and those who worked with him were heavily criticised and harassed after leaving office in 2015.
“This is vindication for President Jonathan… we have seen the restoration of his reputation,” he said.
He added that the renewed support reflects a shift in public perception, noting that many now see Jonathan as a potential solution to Nigeria’s challenges.
However, Abati said the decision ultimately rests with Jonathan, who has not shown clear interest in returning to active politics.
