Solomon Dalung Vows to Challenge Tinubu in 2027 Under ADC Banner
Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has confidently asserted that President Bola Tinubu will face formidable opposition in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Dalung claimed that the president’s political maneuvers are no longer a mystery to those seeking to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He suggested that he might even enter the race himself, expressing readiness to go head-to-head with his former party’s leader to provide an alternative for Nigerians.
“In 2027, we have so many people to challenge Tinubu; even I can decide to contest, and I will challenge him,” Dalung stated during the broadcast.
The former minister dismissed any element of surprise from the ruling party, insisting that the opposition has already decoded the APC’s playbook for staying in power.
“We know Tinubu too well; we know his strategies, there is nothing new about what they (the APC) will do,” he noted, emphasizing that the ADC is preparing for the fight.
He concluded by stressing that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will prioritize internal democracy to ensure a strong candidate emerges to lead the charge.
“Who will challenge him will be determined by the Nigerian people through the membership of the ADC. We are going to conduct transparent primaries. Whosoever wins will challenge Tinubu,” he said
