Electoral Act: ‘ADC dead on arrival; Obi can never be president’ — Fayose

Isaac Fayose, social commentator and brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has expressed profound disappointment in Nigeria’s political future, describing the opposition as effectively “dead.”

In a viral video shared on Instagram this Wednesday, Fayose warned that the country’s political and electoral systems have collapsed, leaving no room for a credible challenge to the ruling power.

“Opposition is gone, ADC is dead on arrival. Peter Obi can never be president. Nobody can be president again unless they select you,” he declared, signaling a bleak outlook for upcoming election cycles.

Fayose’s frustration follows the Senate’s recent rejection of mandatory electronic transmission of election results, a move he believes guts the progress started by previous administrations.

“We’ve finally lost Nigeria. Electoral reform is gone. Even what former President Goodluck Jonathan started has been thrown into the dustbin. No more BVAS. Whatever they tell you is the result,” he lamented.

Beyond the ballot box, he criticized the weakening of the judiciary and the legislature, arguing that the concentration of power is leading Nigeria toward a permanent one-party state.

“We are now back to a one-party state, one family to rule us forever. This is sad, the saddest day of my life,” he added, citing poor security and the exodus of medical professionals as further proof that the nation is in a state of terminal decline.
