”Who Grammy help? Is it Grammy that made us to know you?” – Odumeje Encourages Davido After Grammy Loss
Controversial clergyman Chukwuemeka Odumeje has offered words of encouragement to Davido following his loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Davido missed out on the Best African Music Performance award, which was won by South African singer Tyla, ahead of nominees including Burna Boy and Ayra Starr.
Speaking in his church, Odumeje described Davido as a “generational award,” saying his impact and achievements go beyond trophies and formal recognition.
“There is one of our brothers that I love so much. That is a very great musician, and that is Davido. You are already a generational award winner, awarded a lot of awards.
There is no award that you will receive now that means anything. You have already been awarded any award you need. Your life is an award. Your step is an award.”
