Artistes no longer allowed to do shows in Nigeria during Ramadan – Fave cries out

Nigerian singer Fave has raised concerns over an alleged directive discouraging music shows in Nigeria during the Islamic Ramadan period.

The Baby Riddim crooner said plans to host a birthday concert on March 13 have stalled because the date falls within Ramadan, with promoters repeatedly rejecting the event. Fave questioned why Ramadan should affect her work, noting that she is a Christian and arguing that the restriction is unfair to her business.

On her X handle, she wrote, “So I was tryna do a show in Nigeria on my birthday this year but they’re telling me shows aren’t allowed during Ramadan? I’m a little confused.”

“I started this year wanting to do my first show in Nigeria on my birthday as an independent artiste and back to back, promoters kept sending word to my team saying the same thing.

“I grew up in the south and never heard of Ramadan practices till I was in my late teens. I respect all religions. But I’m Christian and I really want to do this on my birthday so if you’re reading this and are open to organize, I’d be so happy.”
