Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has declared that he has withdrawn from his earlier alignment with the faction loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, warning that the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State will not be used to advance the interests of another party.

Speaking at the commissioning of the new PDP Secretariat in Ibadan, Makinde openly criticized Wike’s involvement in Oyo PDP affairs, saying the former Rivers governor lacks the moral standing to interfere.

“I was aligned with them before, but now I have repented… PDP will not be held down just for another party to be in power,” Makinde said.

He questioned Wike’s record in Rivers State and cautioned party members against internal distractions, stressing that PDP’s strength in Oyo is built on unity and inclusive leadership. Makinde also expressed confidence that the courts would resolve ongoing factional disputes within the party.
