Ned Nwoko: Police Clarify Arrest of Regina Daniels’ Brother, Sammy West, Over Criminal Allegations
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has shed light on the arrest of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, following public outcry over the incident.
Regina Daniels had earlier taken to social media to accuse the police of acting in favour of her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and claimed that her brother was being unfairly targeted.
However, in a statement released on Friday, FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, clarified that Ojeogwu’s arrest was lawful and procedural, following a formal petition and multiple ignored invitations.
“On October 28, 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu and three others for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying,” Adeh said. “He was invited several times but failed to appear. Consequently, he was arrested in Lagos with a valid court warrant and brought to Abuja for further investigation.”
Adeh confirmed that investigations have been concluded and that Ojeogwu was charged in court on November 6, 2025, for the alleged offences.
“The court has ordered his remand until he meets his bail conditions,” she added, stressing that the police remain committed to professionalism, due process, and the rule of law.
The development comes amid heightened public attention on the ongoing family crisis between Regina Daniels and Senator Ned Nwoko, which has recently dominated social media discussions.
