We have over 100 senators in ADC – Dino Melaye

During an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time,” former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye claimed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is gaining momentum and has a significant number of former and serving lawmakers. He stated that the party now has over 100 former and serving senators and around 400 former and serving members of the House of Representatives.

Melaye also mentioned that the party is fast becoming a political force and attracting more former state governors.

This claim by Dino Melaye follows his recent resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his reported move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to sources like the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Wikipedia’s page on the African Democratic Congress, as of the 2023 elections, the ADC had only two members in the House of Representatives and no senators.

The National Assembly in Nigeria has a total of 109 senators and 360 members of the House of Representatives.

The politician vowed that the ADC will unseat the President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2027.

“As I speak, we have over 100 Senators, both former and serving, who are members of the ADC.“We have close to 400 members of the House of Representatives, former and serving, who are members of the ADC,” he said.
