Marriages don’t last anymore. The cases I’m handling involve couples who have been married for less than 3 or 4 years – Lawyer decries high rate of divorce

South African lawyer Akani Mongwane has raised concerns about the rising divorce rate among couples.

He noted that most of the cases he handles involve marriages that have lasted only three to four years.

“Most divorce cases that I’m handling, most couples have been married for less than 3 or 4 years. It’s so bad. Marriages do not last any more. Currently I have more than 400 divorce cases that I’m handling. But irregardless, it is not worth it to stay in a marriage where there’s no love, respect, compassion, commitment and communication,”
