We will continue demolishing shanties, no amount of protest can stop us – Wike affirms
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has reaffirmed his commitment to demolishing shanties in Abuja, stating that protests will not hinder the effort.
During a visit to the Ruga community near Wuye, Wike emphasized the need for sustainable solutions to illegal settlements and promised to engage in dialogue with affected residents.
In response to a recent protest accusing the FCT administration of land grabbing, Wike dismissed the claims as misguided, underscoring the administration’s dedication to upholding the city’s master plan for a safer, more orderly Abuja.
“We are determined to maintain the city’s master plan,” he asserted, adding that public opposition will not sway the administration’s decision to proceed with demolitions aimed at restoring order and ensuring safety within the capital.
