CAF awards Super Eagles 3 points, fine Libya $50,000
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded the Super Eagles three points and three goals after Libya forfeited their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
This strengthened Nigeria’s lead in the group, giving them 10 points, four ahead of Benin.
Libya remains at the bottom with one point. A draw with Benin next month would secure Nigeria’s spot in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco. Additionally, CAF fined the Libya Football Federation $50,000, payable within 60 days.
