Dele Momodu has voiced his opinion on the new university admission age requirement in Nigeria. On August 26, President Bola Tinubu’s administration announced that only those aged 18 and above could sit for the NECO and WAEC exams.
This decision sparked outrage, as many wondered what students who typically finish secondary school at 15 or 16 should do while waiting to meet the age requirement. Weighing in on the matter, Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine, cited the example of Dr. Dorothy Jean Tillman, who earned a doctoral degree at just 17, to illustrate his point.
