UNICAL law student dedicates his final year project to murdered cross-dresser, Abuja Area Mama
Obinna Joseph Okwesili, a law student at the University of Calabar, has dedicated his final year project to the late crossdresser Chantelle, widely known as Abuja Area Mama.
The deceased, whose real name was Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, 33, was brutally murdered in Abuja, with his body discovered on the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on August 8, 2024.
In a post on Wednesday, August 28, Okwesili announced that he dedicated his research project, which analyzes a decade of the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act in Nigeria, to Chantelle.
“Finished my final year project today and thought it is most meritorious to be dedicated to Abuja Area Mama whose life, though different, was fullest in its living. Rest well, Ifeanyi Benedict (Chantelle)”
