People are dying of hunger, President Tinubu is buying a Presidential Jet – Kenneth Okonkwo laments level of insensitivity

Kenneth Okonkwo, actor and former spokesperson for the Labour Party, has criticized the Nigerian government in response to reports that President Bola Tinubu has approved the purchase of a new presidential jet.

Okonkwo expressed his outrage on social media, calling the decision “the height of insensitivity” given the many Nigerians’ severe economic hardships.

He pointed out the country’s numerous challenges, such as widespread hunger, soaring fuel prices, financial instability, and frequent power outages. Okonkwo condemned the jet purchase as a clear example of misplaced priorities, arguing that it reflects a lack of empathy for the struggles of ordinary citizens.

“People are dying of hunger. No food, no fuel, no finance, no electricity, and President Tinubu is buying a presidential jet. This is the height of insensitivity,” he wrote
