Fight in me died on October 20, 2020 — Burna Boy rejects calls to back protest

Afrobeat musician Burna Boy has cautioned his fans against involving him in the ongoing nationwide hunger protest.

Nigerian youths began a 10-day nationwide protest against economic hardship on Thursday, August 1.

Amidst these protests, some fans have taken to social media, urging celebrities to support the movement.

In response, Burna Boy addressed his fans on his X handle, warning them not to drag him into the demonstrations. He stated that the fight in him died during the EndSARS protest on October 20, 2020.

While quoting a post from October 2020, he wrote; “The fight in me died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around. Even Jesus was crucified.”
