Protest: Nigeria cannot be seen to be copying the footsteps of ‘smaller countries’ like Kenya – Lawmaker, Benjamin Kalu
Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, expressed that the planned nationwide protests will be detrimental not only to Nigeria but to Africa as a whole.
Kalu emphasized that Nigeria should not be emulating ‘smaller countries’ such as Kenya. He made these remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s news program.
He said: “Nigeria cannot be seen to be copying the footsteps of ‘smaller countries’ like Kenya. We play the big brother role in Africa, this protest will be emulated across Africa if not discouraged. President Tinubu is only asking for patience to correct the 16 years of PDP rule in Nigeria.”
