Drake loses $300,000 bet after Argentina beat Canada in Copa America semi-final

Canadian superstar Drake lost a $300,000 bet he placed on Canada to defeat Argentina in the Copa America semifinal.

Drake stood to win an estimated $2,880,000 if Canada had advanced, but they lost 2-0 to Argentina at New York’s MetLife Stadium on Tuesday night.

Goals by Lionel Messi and Manchester City’s Julián Álvarez ensured that the South Americans reached the tournament’s final.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, while sharing his bet slip on Instagram, the rapper had written: “This could get Messi @stake.”
