If Kwankwaso is determined to decamp to APC, our doors are open – Ganduje

The recently elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed the party’s openness to welcome Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), should he decide to switch his affiliation.

Ganduje, formerly the governor of Kano State, conveyed this message while engaging in discussions with a select group of media organizations in Kano on Saturday evening.

The APC leader emphasized that he is now in control of the party’s affairs, which has facilitated the potential for Kwankwaso to rejoin the ruling party if he wishes to do so. Ganduje characterized Kwankwaso as a skilled politician who has occupied significant positions at both the state and national levels.

He said: “Nobody will say Kwankwaso is not a good politician; at least he was a two-term Kano governor, although in disrupted tenures; he was Minister of Defence, even though he doesn’t know what defence is; and he was once a senator, even though he never said anything throughout his stay there.

“But if he is willing to decamp to the APC, our door is open, especially now that someone from his state is the party chairman; it will be easier for him to lobby,” he added.
