Shehu Sani visits former Nigerian footballer, Daniel Joshua who has been bedridden for 15 years, accuses NFF of neglect
Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani has accused the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of neglecting Daniel Joshua, a former Nigerian international who has been bedridden for 15 years.
According to Sani, he visited Joshua, who sustained a spinal cord injury in a car accident while driving to the Minna Eagles camp at the invitation of the NFF. The politician claimed that the Niger State Government, under the leadership of Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, initially covered the cost of his treatment but later ceased their support. Sani also mentioned that the NFF provided him with 500,000 Naira but subsequently abandoned him, leaving him to his own devices.
Taking to Twitter, Shehu Sani made an appeal to the new Kaduna State Government and the new leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation to intervene and assist Daniel Joshua, who had previously represented the Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles in his football career.
