Social Media has taken humanity backwards – Wole Soyinka

Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has voiced deep concern about the detrimental impact of technology and social media, highlighting that they are now being controlled by individuals lacking knowledge.

According to The Nation, Soyinka expressed these concerns during a speech at an event in Lagos on Friday, June 16. He emphasized that the improper utilization of technology is swiftly regressing humanity, primarily due to profiling and the spread of abusive language.

Although he clarified that he is not an enthusiast of social media, Soyinka stated that he does not engage in activities such as tweeting or using WhatsApp.
