Fuel Subsidy: There can be no other time, the time is now – Charly Boy
Renowned Nigerian entertainer and socio-political activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s decision to eliminate fuel subsidies. The removal of the subsidy has led to widespread public outcry due to the significant increase in the price of petroleum products.
Currently, the cost of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) has surpassed N500 per liter in many regions of the country. Charly Boy, a devoted advocate for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the previous election, Peter Obi, responded to the controversies surrounding the subsidy removal by endorsing it, emphasizing that the timing couldn’t be more appropriate.
In a tweet from his official account, the singer stated that the battle extends beyond his personal endorsement of a particular candidate and focuses on the alleged criminal elements undermining the nation’s economy
He wrote, “Listen and be informed. Okonjo Iweala bares it all on the subsidy removal. There can be no other time, and the time is NOW.
“My fellow Nigerians this fight is really not about Obi. It’s about the criminals who insist on stealing our national patrimony leaving us poor and hopeless”.
that is true……
