Stop cursing your leaders – Shina Peller tells Nigerians
A member of the House of Representatives, Shina Abiola Peller has cautioned Nigerians against cursing their leaders as it may have negative impacts on the governed.
The lawmaker advised Nigerians to ask God to purify the heart of their leaders and guide them aright, rather than cursing them.
Peller while felicitating with Muslims over the completion of the one-month Ramadan fast, enjoined the Muslims to intensify their good deeds as devotedly carried out during the Ramadan period.
Peller asked citizens to preach peace and not violence, adding that citizens must embrace unity in diversity and treat others the best way they would like to be treated.
“Moreover, we must restrict the temptation of cursing our leaders as doing so will have direct or indirect impacts on us, the governed. Rather, we should pray for God to purify their heart and guide them aright.
“Importantly, as we celebrate this year Eid-al Fitri, let us spread love, not hatred; let us preach peace, not violence; let us embrace our unity in diversity and treat others the best way we would like to be treated.
