EndSARS: NHRC sets up Panel to tackle human rights violation

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has constituted an 11-man independent investigative panel to look into allegations of human rights violations leveled against operatives of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other units of the Nigeria Police Force.

This was according to a statement by the NHRC Executive Secretary, Tony Ojukwu on Friday in Abuja, he stated that the panel will hear petitions, complaints, and memoranda from Nigerians across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.

The committee will be headed by a retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Suleiman Galadima.

Other members of the committee include: Abdulrahaman Yakubu, Yemi Ademolakun, Chioma Chuka, Prof. Ayo Atsenuwa, Tijani Mohammed, Dr. Uju Agomoh, DIG Ibrahim Lamorde, Dr. Garba Tetengi, Feyikemi Abudu, John Aikpokpo Martins, Hilary Ogbonna.

    These police officers have done so many bad things to the masses

  2. That is good of national human Rights commission (NHRC), if they can assist people to get justice at least it will go a long way.

  3. It’s not too late, if Nigerians can still get justice from the brutality of this police, they will be happy indeed.

  4. I will implore the NHRC to let it go beyond this present situations because there are some people who don’t have money to fight for their right except submitted to the will of God. Good of you.
