It will be immoral for me to move to APC – Obaseki says as he visits Buhari
Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has termed him moving back to the All progressives congress (APC) as immoral.
He stated this while speaking to State House Correspondents after meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja today September 25.
”Gleaning from the comments of Mr President, he said that he wants to leave a democracy that is built on integrity, accountability and hard work. Those were his words and I subscribe totally to that. It will not show integrity; it will not demonstrate somebody that has ethical or moral foundation to do what you asked about. I couldn’t have contested in one party, won on that party and then consider moving to another party. It is not the kind of thing to do, it’s not the right thing to do and I am sure you will not encourage me to do that.” Governor Obaseki said
He also commended the president for ensuring the just concluded election in Edo State was credible
”So, this morning we are here in the villa to show our profound gratitude and appreciation for this, which on the surface will look normal but the implications are very far reaching. Because, this is a sitting president whose party’s was contesting an election and insisted that the right thing be done and a level playing field be created for contestants. By doing so, that singular action has deepened our democracy, far beyond what we can understand and imagine today.
”So, for that act alone, we felt we must come and say thank you. Mr President in his characteristic humorous manner, said he reluctantly congratulated me for beating his party. He also pointed that his role first we foremost as president of Nigeria, is to be president of all regardless of your party, race, tribe, creed. We couldn’t ask for more from Mr President, he really played the role of a statesman.” he said
That is true because only an ingrate would do that
If someone or somebody asks you to go back to the APC party and you do, as a person I will tag you as an ungrateful and immoral person. No matter the case may be you must stay with PDP either good or bad.
Though, politics is a dirty game, anything can happen within a twinkle of an eye. I will implore you to stay with the party which rescue you when you are in dilemma. Don’t be an ingrate person and you must show your appreciation to them. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
If is immoral to your standard to move to apc.you better still be where you are period.
PDP all the way.
Don’t say is not possible to return to your formal party, but you make it not to possible because is not advisable for you to return to APC. You are in the party before they refuse to give you the ticket…. you can not turn your back to the party that brought you in for the second time. My advice for you is to remain in PDP.
Mhhhhh!!!! All these long grammar, I foresee this man cross carpeting again from PDP to APC.
You and I know quite well how these Nigeria politicians behave, we all know they don’t have any ideology they believe in which they can stand up and beat their chest and say they are protecting
They only use parties as platforms they use to actualize their interests and once that is done they move to any other party they feel will give them more cover
Let us all continue to watch this man Obaseki and see how sincere he is with what he is saying now
There must be a reason he left APC , going back there will look like he doesn’t know what he is doing
if u want to move just say it stop hiding it but don’t forget tomorrow is coming
Change is a Process, Not an Event…with time you will come back.
That’s what a good leader should do
Yes, absolutely immoral because this was the party that never stood by you when you need them most.
Please don’t betray PDP because they removed shame from you. APC fooled you but God crowned you through PDP so let your no be no sir.
They should allow this man to stay in the party he wants, why are they neck bent on having him back to APC.
Let man push to do what is against your wish.
Stand firm.
