Leaders above 80 need to be squeezed out of Office – Obasanjo
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has called for the active participation of youths in politics.
while delivering a keynote address at a virtual interactive session, held to mark this year’s International Youth Day, organized by the Youth Development Centre, an arm of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Obasanjo stated that the youths need to take over politics in order to squeeze out the older generation.
According to him, unless the leaders are forced out, they would continue to occupy the political offices.
“Unless you squeeze out those who are in the office and those who want to remain in office perpetually, some after the age of 80.
“Unless you squeeze them out they will not want to be out,” he said.
Obasanjo also said that for youths to influence the political structure, they have to start at the party level.

A good way to change someone’s attitude is to change your own. Because, the same sun that melts butter, also hardens clay!
When you asked youths to take over from 80, after you have corrupt everywhere, where do you expect youths to get huge amount to buy 22 million naira of nomination form? etc. May God help us.
Some of our youths do not know what they are doing because instead of tackling All these atrocities that all these old papa are committed, they are the one supporting them when they were giving token amount of money. Youths should think about their future not what they will eat at the present.

In as much as I don’t see Obasanjo as a nice man and a nice leader, this his message is fine and good and should be adhered to by the youths
The youths have to find ways to squeeze out leadership from these old papas
They have shoot their shots so let them leave the younger ones to shoot their own shot

I support that but how can the youth get the money to to be nominated in. 25 million for the form,na small thing.
Abi..they should make way for younger folks to handle things.
