Congolese music legend Aurlus Mabélé reportedly dies from Coronavirus
Congolese Soukous legend Aurlus Mabele, real names Aurélien Miatshonama Mabélé, has died in France from coronavirus according to reports.
The 67-year-old musician, popularly called the king of soukous- a genre of African music, died in hospital in France’s capital Paris. According to his family members, he died of coronavirus.
His daughter, French singer Liza Monet, and his fellow member of the supergroup Loketo, Mav Cacharel, said on their social media handles that he died of the novel coronavirus.
With more than 10 million albums sold over 30-years of musical career, Aurlus Mabélé died a musical legend in his country.
