Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disclosed plans to abolish the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007) in Lagos State. The implication of this is that former Governors and their Deputies will no longer be entitled to pension and other benefits after they leave office. Activist sues Sam Adeyemi, Burna Boy, 48 others over Role in #EndSARS Protests
A human rights activist, Mr Kenechukwu Okeke, has filed a criminal complaint Against 50 persons including musicians Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido and the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi for their roles in the #EndSARS protests that took place nationwide in October. CBN opposes Suit to remove Arabic Inscriptions from Banknotes
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has opposed a suit before the federal high court in Lagos seeking to remove Arabic inscriptions on the naira notes. CBN informed the court that it will cost a lot of money to discard existing notes and print new ones without the inscriptions. The apex court also argued that Ajami is not a symbol or mark of Islam, but an inscription to help non-English speakers who are Ajami literate. Ex-Mali’s President, Amadou Toure is dead
Mali’s former president Amadou Toumani Toure, who led the Sahel nation for a decade before being ousted in a coup, is dead. He died in Turkey at the age of 72, a family member and a doctor said on Tuesday. “Amadou Toumani Toure died during the night of Monday to Tuesday in Turkey, where he had been taken for health reasons” his nephew Oumar Toure told AFP. A hospital doctor in Bamako said the former leader had recently undergone heart surgery and was recuperating but was later transferred to Turkey where he died.

Nigerian lawyer calls for the removal of Arabic inscription from currency
A court in Lagos is due to hear a case filed by a lawyer against the Central Bank of Nigeria to demand the removal of Arabic inscriptions on the local currency. The lawyer, Malcolm Omirhobo also wants the Nigerian army to remove the inscription from its military logo saying it portrays Nigeria as an Islamic state contrary to the country’s constitutional status of a secular state.
