Catholic Priest butchered to death in Niger state while his brother is kidnapped for N30M Ransom
A Catholic priest, Father John Gbakaan, has been killed by unknown gunmen in Niger State. According to reports, Fr. Gbakaan alongside his brother and another priest travelled to Makurdi in Benue state last Thursday, January 14 to see his mother. The cleric was on his way back to Niger state with his brother when they were attacked by gunmen along Lambata-Lapai road. The attackers were said to have descended on the priest with machetes, hacking his body beyond recognition. Parents come up with hilarious punishment for their daughter who broke eggs then accused the Dog
Parents of a little girl came up with a unique way to punish her for her naughty behaviour. The parents wrote her “crimes” on a sheet of paper and took photos of her with her “charge sheet”. She was charged for breaking eggs and other household items after which she hid them behind the couch and blamed the dog. The incident happened on Tuesday, Jan 12, 2021. Her parents also took several “mugshots” of the girl with “inmate” written on her charge sheet, together with her prison number. The dog was not left out too. See photos below.

Reps oppose school resumption, propose three-month postponement
The House of Representatives has faulted the Federal Government for giving schools the greenlight to resume on Monday despite the increasing cases of COVID-19. The House said government officials did not consult the relevant committees of the National Assembly, contrary to their claim that all relevant stakeholders were consulted before arriving at the January 18, 2021, resumption date. Shiite Group calls for the release of El-Zakzaky, Wife
Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Shiites have called for the release of their embattled leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, his wife and other members of the group still in detention. This was according to a statement by the Chairman Resource Forum of the IMN, Professor Abdullahi Danladi on Saturday while addressing newsmen in Kaduna. Passengers and airline staff fight over flight cancellation
Frustrated passengers and airline staff were caught in a fight over a cancelled flight on Friday evening, Jan 15, at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano. According to Daily Trust, the fight started when passengers of an Azman flight from Kano to Lagos were informed that the flight, which was earlier rescheduled from 7:30am to 8:30pm, had been cancelled. Passengers protested and it soon turned violent, resulting in a female staff of the airline collapsing after being hit, a passenger left with a bloody mouth and another staff had his cloth nearly ripped off his body.
