FCMB appoints acting Managing Director, Yemisi Edun
The First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has announced the appointment of Yemisi Edun as its acting managing director. Edun takes over the running of the bank from the Managing Director, Adam Nuru, who on Tuesday, January 5, proceeded on leave amid allegations of marital infidelity involving him and a former staff of the bank, Moyo Thomas. There are allegations that Moyo’s estranged husband, Tunde Thomas, 45, died on December 16, 2020, from a heart attack after battling with depression upon discovering that the two children from their marriage were allegedly fathered by Mr Nuru. University of Lagos loses another Professor
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has lost another professor, Duro Ajeyalemi barely three days after former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe reportedly died of COVID-19 complications. Ajeyalemi retired from UNILAG after he clocked 70 years in 2020. He was the former Dean of Student Affairs and immediate past Registrar, Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB). He became an Associate Professor in 1989 and was appointed Professor of Curriculum Studies in 1992. The deceased was a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (1984), and National Association for Research in Science Teaching, USA (1990).

FG to borrow dormant account balances and unclaimed dividends from Nigerians
The Federal government has announced that it will be borrowing from Nigerians unclaimed dividends and dormant bank account balances that have been left for up to at least six years. According to the Finance act 2020 which the president signed into law, the remitted funds will be available as special credit to the federal government through the Unclaimed Funds Trust Fund. Journalist, Agba Jalingo, has expressed that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is afraid of Sowore. Foreigners without COVID-19 certificate will lose visas – Nigeria Immigration Service
The Nigeria Immigration Service has warned that foreigners who fail to present their COVID-19 test certificates on arrival in the country will lose their visas. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of at least one oxygen plant in each of the 36 states of the country.
