We are not contemplating a fresh lockdown- PTF
The Presidential Task Force on COVID19 has announced that the Federal government is not considering a fresh lockdown in the wake of the second wave of the pandemic. In a letter allegedly from the task force, it was indicated that an imminent lockdown was set to begin this weekend. Boko Haram are buying fertilizers to make bombs – DHQ
Army’s Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has raised an alarm about insurgents buying fertilizers to make bombs. This was disclosed in a statement by the Coordinator of the Directorate of Defence Media Operations, (DDMO), Maj. Gen. John Enenche on Friday January 15 during a media briefing on military operations from January 7 to 13. Lance corporal Martins Idakpini, the Soldier arrested for criticizing COAS Tukur Buratai has been granted bail after 7 months in detention. Idakpini was arrested and detained in Abuja after a video he made in June 2020 went viral. In the video, he accused Buratai of poorly managing the fight against insurgency. The Federal government has shared plans of selling off some government-owned properties and non-oil assets in order to fund the 2021 budget. This was disclosed in a statement by the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed during a virtual budget presentation ceremony on Tuesday, January 12. Wounds of civil war have not healed— Bishop Kukah
Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Matthew Kukah has expressed that the wounds of the civil war have not yet healed. Speaking at the second edition of the ‘Never Again Conference: 51 years after the Nigerian-Biafran civil war’ which held virtually on Thursday, Kukah advised Nigerians to compile a history of the country.
