Two Siblings arrested for murder of Makeup Artist
Two siblings identified as Ifezue Chiamaka and Ifezue Emeka, have been arrested for killing a make-up artist, Ijeoma Nweke. Ijeoma Nweke went missing in November and the suspects allegedly behind the murder were eventually fished out. CBN directs banks to close accounts of cryptocurrency traders
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed banks to close accounts of persons or entities involved in cryptocurrency transactions within their systems. The apex bank made this known in a circular released to deposit money banks (DMBs), non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), and other financial institutions (OFIs) on Friday. In January 2017, CBN had said digital currencies such as bitcoin, litecoin, and others are largely used in terrorism financing and money laundering, considering the anonymity of virtual transactions. BREAKING: Buhari extends IGP Adamu’s tenure
President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for three months. The development was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi at the presidential villa, Abuja on Thursday.
