The Oyo state government has dismissed claims that the Hausa-Fulani herdsmen are the menace causing elements in the country. Governor Seyi Makinde in a live broadcast on Wednesday, 21st January averred that the real enemy of the state are bandits, Kidnappers, Cultists, and other assailants and not the Hausa-Fulani herdsmen who he tagged as lawful residents of the state. Suspected kidnappers who allegedly killed a 6-year-old girl after demanding for N8m ransom from her family, have been paraded by the police. The suspects reportedly kidnapped the little girl on November 2, 2020, in Gabije community of Kogi State, alongside her 14-year-old brother.
