The Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSDC) Ahmed Audi has disclosed that bandits operating in Nigeria have foreign sponsors. Speaking during the training workshop for state commandants of the NSCDC in Abuja on Wednesday, Audi stated that the country is witnessing an asymmetric war that requires inter-agency collaboration among security agencies. Armed bandits open fire on Emir of Birnin Gwari’s convoy (photos)
The convoy of Emir of Birnin Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril Mai Gwari II were attacked by armed bandits along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway while the convoy was on it’s way to Kaduna on Monday, March 15. President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed that Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu can remain in office till 2023 or 2024. ”4.5m people in Lagos are into illicit drugs”- NDLEA boss Buba Marwa says
The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa, has disclosed that there are about 4.5 million people in Lagos state into illicit drugs. Marwa made this known during a visit to the Lagos NDLEA command on Tuesday, March 16 as he ordered operatives of the agency to wipe out drug cartels in the state. “In the country, an estimate of 15 million people belong to one or more aspects of illicit drug dealing. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced new charges for customers using the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) services. According to a statement jointly signed by CBN’s Acting Director, Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi and Director, Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Ikechukwu Adinde, the new charges will take effect from Tuesday, customers will pay N6.98 per transaction every time they use USSD services.
