Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has told Uzodinma that he has no right to rename his university. Governor Hope Uzodimma had announced the renaming of the Eastern Palm University to K. O. Mbadiwe University shortly after the son of the late politician and ambassador, Greg Mbadiwe decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Benue Govt shuts School after outbreak of strange illness
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has ordered the closure of a secondary school, Vaatia College, in Makurdi, the capital of the state, following the outbreak of a strange disease. At least nine students have been reported paralyzed following the outbreak of the strange illness and some have been hospitalised at Madonna Hospital, a private clinic in the state. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked the supreme court to send former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh back to prison. The court of appeal had voided Metuh’s conviction on December 16 on the grounds that the trial judge exhibited bias in the case who had to order a retrial before a different judge.
