The Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has appointed AIG Hafiz Inuwa, as the Force Secretary and a member of the Force Management Team. The IGP re-appointed CP Frank Mba as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) and Ag. CP Idowu Owohunwa as his Principal Staff Officer (PSO). Benue Crisis: Expose those who killed Soldiers, return Army Weapons – Ortom urges Communities
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has urged community leaders to expose those who carried out an unprovoked attack on Nigerian Army troops, leading to the death of an officer and 10 other soldiers. Rivers Govt bans meeting of Igbo Group in Oyigbo
The Rivers State Government has placed a ban on a planned meeting of some Igbo residents in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state over fears that the meeting could spark fresh unrest in the area. Army allegedly opens fire, kills 70, sets community ablaze in Benue
The Nigerian Army have allegedly killed over 70 residents of Mbator in Shangev-Tiev of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State. The soldiers allegedly invaded the community following the killing of 10 of it’s personnel who were on stabilisation operation in the state over the communal clash between Konshisha and Oju Local Government Area. Acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba says there are critical security situations in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country. Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth’s husband is dead
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II, is dead. He died on Friday at Windsor Castle in England. According to Nytimes, the Buckingham Palace said he passed away peacefully.
