First Lady, Aisha Buhari’s biographer appointed Nigeria’s ambassador to UNESCO
Mrs Hajo Sani, the Senior Special Assistant on Administration and Women Affairs to the First Lady has been appointed Ambassador and Permanent delegate of Nigeria to United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation. This is coming barely a week after a biography she wrote for the wife of the President titled, ‘Aisha Buhari: Being different’ was launched in Abuja. Release of remaining Chibok girls still work in progress – Presidency
The Presidency has assured that the release of the Chibok Girls who have been in Boko Haram’s custody since 2014 is still a work in progress. This was according to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. Yobe Governor, Buni marries Abacha’s daughter, Gumsu
Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Wednesday married daughter of General Sani Abacha, Gumsu Sani Abacha in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The marriage was held at the Abuja residence of Gumsu’s brother, Mohammed Abacha. Notable personalities and government officials, including the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Hameed Ali were in attendance. In 2019, shortly after he assumed office, Buni tied the knot with Ummy, a daughter of his predecessor and incumbent Yobe East Senator Ibrahim Gaidam. Gumsu, 45, is the governor’s fourth wife. Her marriage to Cameroonian multi-billionaire, Bayero Mohamadou crashed in 2020.

It is not true – FG replies Governor Obaseki on printing of N60bn
The Federal Government has countered claims by Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki that it printed N50 to N60 billion for states to share in March 2021. This was according to a statement by the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed while answering questions from state house correspondents. Ahmed noted that what was distributed at the monthly FAAC meetings were generated revenues from government institutions available to the public at the ministry’s website. Ex-Imo Gov, Rochas Okorocha arrested
Former Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, was arrested on Tuesday in Abuja. He was picked by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in his private office. EFCC Head of Media, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the development. The reason is not known yet, but the Senator reportedly failed to honour invitations by the agency. Nigerian soldier commits suicide in Borno
A soldier identified as Kila Jima fighting Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state has reportedly committed suicide. According to reports from Sahara Reporters the soldier, a corporal in the Army’s 152 Battalion, Banki, was said to have suddenly cocked his rifle and shot himself in the head last Saturday, April 10.
