Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has said the current situation of the country is due to the 1975 coup d’etat that saw the overthrow of Yakubu Gowon and brought Murtala Muhammed to power. Gunmen set Federal High court, Abakaliki ablaze
The Federal High Court complex in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State located along the Enugu/Abakaliki Highway opposite the state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State office has been set ablaze by unknown gunmen. The assailants stormed the court complex in the early hours of Tuesday April 27, shooting sporadically before setting the library and security sections of the building on fire. No death was recorded but two of the three security guards on duty were said to have sustained minor injuries. This follows several violent attacks that have been recorded in the South-East.

BREAKING: Herdsmen attack IDPs camp, kill seven in Benue
Seven persons have been confirmed dead and several others injured, at Abagena community housing Internally Displaced Persons camp in Makurdi Local government Area of Benue State following an attack by Fulani herdsmen. The Federal Government has suspended a leading media outfit in Nigeria, Channels Television and also handed them a fine of N5 million for breach of the broadcast code.
