Buhari moves against killer herdsmen, says open grazing ban illegal – Garba Shehu
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday expressed a strong resolve to address the conflicts of herders and farmers for a permanent solution. He ordered that the associated problem of the gun-wielding “killer herdsmen” be tackled. Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, in a statement reiterated the President’s approved measures to bring an end to the issues as recommended by Sabo Nanono, the Minister of Agriculture, in April. Reps to Scrap NYSC as Bill reaches Second Reading
The House of Representatives is considering scrapping the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Alteration Bill, 2020, which seeks to cancel the NYSC Act, is billed for the second reading. Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has said he is the only Nigerian governor who does not receive a monthly salary. Attahiru: Buhari declares Monday work free day
