BREAKING: Buhari appoints new Chairman, Executive Secretary for PPPRA
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a Chairman and an Executive Secretary for the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA). According to a statement signed by Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, the Chairman, Mr Atuonwo A. Obinna, while the Executive Secretary Mr Abdulkadir Saidu was reappointed for another four years. The appointment of Mr Atuonwo Obinna as Chairman Governing Board for a four-year term is in accordance with Section 2 (1-3) and 3 (a) of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (Establishment, ETC) Act 2003.

The Department of State Services has reportedly invited controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, for questioning over his recent comments claiming that Nigerian soldiers aid bandits’ activities. It was gathered that the controversial Islamic cleric was summoned to the DSS office in Kaduna State, according to the Hausa service of the Voice of America, monitored on Friday. Gumi’s spokesman, Tukur Mamu, in an interview with the VOA, dismissed the allegation against Gumi, saying there was nowhere in the TV interview where Gumi categorically accused the entire military.

Gunmen abduct Kogi Lawmaker, others from Abuja Hotel
An unspecified number of persons, including a two-term former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Friday Sani Makama have been abducted from a hotel in Abuja, by gunmen.
