    Victoria, wife of Nigeria’s first Head of State, Major General J. T. U. Aguiyi-Ironsi, is dead. Victoria passed away in the early hours of Monday. She would have clocked 98 on November 21, 2021. Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi who seized power during a national chaos following the January 15, 1966 military coup was killed on July 29, 1966 during a counter coup. Victoria, who never re-married, died two weeks after the demise of Hadiza Shagari, wife of former President Shehu Shagari who died due to COVID-19 complications.
