House Of Representatives steps down Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB
The House of Representatives has stepped down the controversial Petroleum Industry Bill after an hour-long closed-door session. Earlier in the day, lawmakers from the South-South had opposed the harmonized PIB allocation to host communities pegged at three percent. The Southern lawmakers had insisted that the percentage be increased to five as against the three percent pushed in the bill. FG approves N309bn for Federal Road Contract to Dangote
The Federal Executive Council has approved the sum of ₦309.9 billion for road contracts which will be handled by the Dangote Group. The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, made this known during a media briefing after the council meeting on Wednesday.
