BREAKING: Nigerian Defence Academy confirms bandits’ attack, officers’ murder
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has confirmed an attack by bandits on Tuesday. A large number of bandits attacked the NDA campus in Afaka, Kaduna State, around 1:30am. Lieutenant Commander Wulah and Flight Lieutenant CM Okoronkwo were shot dead. Another officer, Major Datong was kidnapped while second Lieutenant Onah sustained gunshot wounds and currently receiving treatment. Industrial Court orders Resident Doctors to suspend Strike
The National Industrial Court has ordered the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to suspend its ongoing strike. Resident doctors in the country have been on strike since the 2nd of August 2021. Justice John Targema gave the order on Monday in an ex parte application by the Federal Government. He ruled: “It is hereby ordered that claimant/applicant and the defendant/respondent suspend all forms of hostilities forthwith pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.” Justice Targema adjourned the substantive suit to September 15 and ruled that a hearing notice should be issued and served on the defendant.

Victoria, wife of Nigeria’s first Head of State, Major General J. T. U. Aguiyi-Ironsi, is dead. Victoria passed away in the early hours of Monday. She would have clocked 98 on November 21, 2021. Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi who seized power during a national chaos following the January 15, 1966 military coup was killed on July 29, 1966 during a counter coup. Victoria, who never re-married, died two weeks after the demise of Hadiza Shagari, wife of former President Shehu Shagari who died due to COVID-19 complications.
