We can go on Strike anytime – ASUU
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said its members can embark on strike at anytime, as the Federal Government is breaking on its promise to implement the Memorandum of Action, MOA, which was agreed and signed on last December. Briefing the press in Lagos on Tuesday, the Lagos Zonal Coordinator, Dr Adelaja Odukoya, also accused the government of trying to cripple the union by withholding check off dues of members for over a year. UAE names Nigerians among sponsors of terrorism
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has listed six Nigerians as financiers of Boko Haram and terror activities. State-run WAM news agency reports that the information was released at the country’s federal cabinet meeting in Abu Dhabi on Monday. The Nigerians are Abdurrahaman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad. They were prosecuted in 2020 for wiring funds to Boko Haram. Gov Ganduje’s son reports his mom to EFCC for allegedly defrauding him
Abdulazeez Ganduje has reported his mother Hafsat Ganduje to the EFCC for alleged bribery and land fraud. Hafsat however, shunned the invitation extended to her by the Anti-graft agency Mrs Ganduje was invited to report last Thursday to the Abuja headquarters of the EFCC. FG approves deployment of 5G network in Nigeria
The Federal Government has approved the deployment of the Fifth Generation Network, also known as 5G in Nigeria. Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy disclosed the approval after the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting in Abuja last week Wednesday. Kogi: Yahaya Bello govt confirms Kabba prison break
The Kogi State Government has confirmed an attack on a Correctional Centre in the state. Gunmen had attacked the Kabba Custodial Centre in the wee hours of Monday which saw the death of two soldiers and the escape of inmates. Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information in the state, said security agents have rearrested some inmates from the Correctional centre in Kabba and some inmates have returned voluntarily.
