Pandemonium in Owerri as gunmen enforce lockdown, causing children to run home from school
Pandemonium broke out in Owerri, Imo State, as gunmen went about shooting and chasing those who weren’t obeying the sit-at-home order. IPOB had declared that there will be a sit-at-home every Monday to protest the arrest of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Former Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri agrees to become new Watford head coach

Man gets strokes of cane for stealing plantain in Bayelsa
A man identified as Martins Dickson has been given some strokes of cane and fined after he was caught stealing bunches of plantain in Bayelsa State. Nigeria Maritime University student, one other drown as boat capsizes in Warri River
A student of the Nigeria Maritime University(NMU), Okerenkoko, in Warri, Delta State, and a caterer attached to the institution, have drowned in a boat mishap. The victims were identified as Popo Precious and Tamar. The incident occurred Friday morning, October 1, when the deceased and other passengers were travelling from Okerenkoko to Warri. UNIZIK student dies after being hit by stray bullet fired by unknown gunmen in Nnewi
A 300l student of College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University identified as Chioma Mbionu has been killed by a stray bullet fired by unknown gunmen. Details of the incident are however still sketchy at the time of this report the Medical Rehabilitaion student was killed during the attack on security facilities in Nnewi on Sunday, October 3. According to reports, she was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital Nnewi but was allegedly not attended to as doctors are on strike. She subsequently bled to death at the gate.
