Chief Ernest Shonekan, the former head of the Interim National Government who succeeded General Ibrahim Babangida, is dead, TVC News reportsShonekan died in Lagos at the age of 85.The deceased was the interim head of the Nigerian government between August 26 and November 17, 1993, before he was ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.

EFCC re-arrests Mompha for ‘money laundering’
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Lagos state command, have re-arrested Dubai-based businessman, Ismailia Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, for allegedly laundering funds obtained through unlawful activities and retention of alleged proceeds of crime. Mompha, who was arrested on Monday January 10, is currently standing trial alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, on an amended 22-count charge bordering on cyber fraud and money laundering to the tune of N32.9 billion brought against him by the EFCC. The Kano State Task Force on Tourism Development Levy has banned underage children from going to hotels as well as men and women from swimming in the same pool. The agency also banned shisha smoking, lesbianism and gay practices in the state.
