16-year-old arrested for attempting to exhume corpse from Cemetery in Niger State
Officers of the Niger State Police Command has arrested a 16-year-old identified as Lawal Abubakar for attempting to exhume a corpse from a grave at Chanchaga cemetery. Abubakar confessed to have conspired with one Hamisu presently at large to get body parts and cloth of a corpse from the cemetery at the rate of five thousand. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has dissolved the State Executive Council. This was according to a Statement by Wike’s special assistant on Media. The dissolution takes effect from today, Tuesday, May 24, 2022. The Chief of Staff to the Governor and Senior Special Assistants have been relieved of their offices. The Governor commended the members of Rivers State Executive Council for “their service and contribution to the development of the State” and “wished them the best in all their future endeavours.” He also directed the former cabinet members to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective offices.
