FG purchase N1.4 billion worth of vehicles for Niger Republic
The Federal Government has purchased vehicles worth N1.4 billion to help Niger tackle insecurity. This was according to a statement by Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed while speaking with statehouse correspondence after the Federal Executive Council meeting today August 3. Sidi Aminu Sharif, one of the freed passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna train has narrated his four months ordeal in captivity. He disclosed that he was accidentally shot by the terrorists on their 85th day in the den. He shared this at the Kaduna office of Tukur Mamu, Kaduna-based publisher who facilitated the release of some of the train passengers. BREAKING: Bandits release four more Kaduna-Abuja train victims
The abductors of Kaduna-Abuja rail passengers on Tuesday have released four more captives. Over 60 passengers were abducted by Bandits on March 28, 2022, after killing 14 and wounding several others.The abducted passengers have since been released in batches. A family source of one of the victims shared that among those released on Tuesday, included Professor Mustapha Umar Imam, a medical doctor at the Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUS), Sokoto. Imam was reportedly shot while in captivity. Others that were release are Akibu Lawal, Abubakar Ahmed Rufai, Muktar Shuaibu, and Sidi Aminu Sharif.

Aba youths stage protest, demand the end of Ebubeagu
Youths in Aba, Abia state have taken to the streets to demand an end to the Ebubeagu militia in the state They carried placards with the inscription ”End Ebubeagu in Igboland”. The residents called on the state government to scrap the security outfit created by the South East governors in April 2021 to specifically secure lives and properties in the region.
